Don’t make a MISTAKE this V-Day!

1.  Don’t buy a huge cookie bouquet.  They are perishable, fattening and with all the dye coloring, don’t taste all that great.

2.  Don’t buy a fruit bouquet!  This is not the time to let her know that she needs to be healthy.  Also, who can eat that much fruit before the flies get to it?

3.  You need a CHOCbite bouquet.  We will be unveling them on our club site HERE shortly!  They are luxurious.  They are delicious.  They are beautiful.  They are the ONLY way to say, “I really do love you”!!

Happy Halloween!

Today we had the pleasure of delivering 60 Halloween CHOCbite bars to the Austin Children’s Shelter to the staff that work there as a “Thank YOU” for your service!  The Shelter is clean and new and full of dedicated and lovely staff.

We are enjoying our new initiative of giving bars to non profits around Austin!  Let us know if you have a non profit that has touched your life in some way so that we can make our rounds there too!

Customized chocolate

I am excited and shocked.

Excited because Nestle has realized that we, the American public, want to design our own chocolate treats.  We will no longer just take their concoctions and unintentionally devour them.  We want our own, perfect for us, custom chocolate bar.  We want to create it, to our taste!  According to this article in the Chicago Tribune Nestle will be launching this new opportunity through their premium brand Maison Cailler.

Now, the shocked part.  According to the same article, the Founder and CEO of Chicago based Vosges Haut Chocolat, isn’t a fan of personalization and chocolate and here it comes, quote “”I don’t know that they would be so successful.” Markoff said. She said her customers “want to be surprised” by her creations and in many cases “don’t know what they want.”

WHAT?  Your customers, the American people, don’t know what they want?  They have no ability to know that they like nuts, or spicy, or fruit, or sweets with their chocolate?  They can’t decide?  Is it to hard?  Are we doing business in different countries?  My loyal clients are foodies and understand their own palate and desires.

I am speechless that someone running a $25MM company is so out of touch with her clients.  Time to wake up and smell the chocolate…………..with sriacha peas……….or whatever you choose, at CHOCbite!!!

Melted Chocolate

I have had a couple of clients asking when the hot weather shipping is going to be removed from the cart (1 1/2″ insulated packaging, ice packs and expidited shipping), well, the weather has to be lower than 75 degrees, for the entire week, in the entire country (including Texas where we are located)!!!

Here is the weeks weather report for Austin:

Tonight Oct 18 Wed 19 Thu 20 Fri 21 Sat 22 Sun 23 Mon 24 Tue 25 Wed 26 Thu 27

Clear Sunny Sunny Sunny Partly Cloudy Partly Cloudy Sunny Sunny Sunny Showers
– High 76° 82° 84° 83° 85° 85° 86° 83° 71°
48° Low 49° 56° 62° 63° 59° 60° 63° 55° 54°

So, the answer is, it may be a month or two!

Please make sure to reuse the beautiful insulated box and the blue CHOCbite ice packs can be frozen or microwaved and used as hot or cold packs for your aches and pains!

Sales Success

In addition to owning 8 companies (restaurant, bar, lingerie store, nightclub, construction company, investment real estate company, reclaimed glass art company and now CHOCbite) , I have also worked in Corporate America.  I had a commercial banking job which entailed lending millions of dollars to business owners primarily to purchase commercial real estate for their firms.  I was a top sales person in each bank that I worked for.

Do you know why?  Tenacity + Generosity = SUCCESS

Yes, that is the formula.

I normally give around 2% of the annual income from a client back to them in the form of a luxurious gift.  That is my guideline.  Sometimes, the gift is given to the referral source, not the client, depending on the type of business.  Some firms (like government agencies etc) are not permitted to accept gifts at all (or over $25).

We have devised an easy way to say THANK YOU to your peeps.  The new CHOCbite Company Club program that gives you free shipping too!

Self Promotion versus Generosity

Do you own a company, or work for a company, that gives “gifts”?  By “gifts” I mean self promotional gifts.  I beautiful glass vase, except the givers logo all over it?  The classy pen with the gifters company name?  I make these beautiful reclaimed glass pieces over at ARTSYer.com and every once in a while I get a request for the pieces to have the senders logo on it (THE FRONT)!!

We do put logos on the packaging of our CHOCbite bars, but, the chocolate itself is for the delight of the recipient.  They won’t be eating your logo!  I have tasted the sugar photo candies, and, boy, it is not to my liking at all!  I have even wanted to remove the decorative toppings on my site, becuase died sugar is not the tastiest thing, but, the CHOCbite lovers said that they want to have the Happy Birthday bars and such.  So, they are still there!

Are you truly generous, or, are you just self promoting at your company?

Talent versus Tenacity

I know many very talented people.  Some are successful and some are not.  In my search for the reasoning for this, I have found that people with a great deal of tenacity are more than often very successful in their endeavors.

Why is this?  I believe that if you consistently work towards your goal, a little bit each day (whether it is to make money, lose weight, learn a new skill or game etc), then you will eventually get there.  Some people get there faster than others though!I have great respect and admiration for people that have tenacity.

Freedom

In my lovely group of friends, here in Austin, TX, we have been discussing happiness.  What it means to each of us.  How to get there.  For me, owning my business CHOCbite, represents freedom The ability to run the company the way that I want to.  To buy from the vendors I decide are worthy of my money.  To use my creativity in my packaging, marketing and design.  To hire staff that are willing to work hard, be generous, be honest and grow.  To be in control of my own success.  To enjoy the fruits (or nuts of chocolate) of my labor!

Bite Me!

Bite Me!

I know that entrepreneurship is not for everyone.  It can be scary sometimes.  There are definitely peaks and valleys, but for me, the journey is pleasurable.  And, to be the Chief Chocolate Lover is FABULOUS!

Freedom + Success = Happiness!
